I love dynasty leagues. I love scouring for the next gem, recognizing that a certain player is starting his breakout or that a player is simply being undervalued or overlooked. For the 2011 version of Going Deep, now named Dynasty Stash,  I am hopeful that we can cover a little bit of all these categories. The player that you can pluck off another owners roster is just as valuable as the player you find on the waiver wire. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Brian [...]

With the bye weeks here, now we enter the heart of the fantasy football season. Because of the byes and more players getting injured each week, setting your lineups becomes extremely difficult. This is when we find out if your teams are contenders or pretenders. Time to set your lineups for week 8. Here we have my Top 36 Linebackers, Defensive Backs, and Defensive Linemen for week 8. Good luck! Week 8 Byes: Falcons, Bears, Packers, Jets, Raiders, and Buccaneers. [...]

While there are countless variations of fantasy football leagues out there with their own unique settings, there is a fair chance that your trade deadline is looming and playoffs are not much more than a few weeks down the road. As the pace of trading picks up, each transaction that you weren’t involved in is a missed opportunity. With each trade made, two teams have improved themselves while you get left in the dust. Those teams won’t be interested in helping you improve your club [...]

As always… updated daily or better as news breaks My not-100%-obvious Week 8 studs: QB: Christian Ponder – In our predictions for the season article, I made the prediction that Christian Ponder would be starting for fantasy teams in their fantasy playoffs. His matchups then will have him throwing from behind and running for yards. This week, although not in the playoffs, is one of those weeks. The Panthers will make some big plays and the Vikings will be keeping [...]

In addition to writing about offensive lines, I follow college basketball closely. One of the many things that annoys me about college basketball coverage is the annual complaint about the “weak bubble.” In other words, media pundits do not believe there aren’t enough good teams to make up the NCAA tournament. Granted, one of those weak teams last year turned out to be VCU (who made the Final Four), but talk of the weak bubble persists. I thought of the [...]

The Bears and The Bucs locked horns in jolly olde England with Chicago coming out on top. The Lions suffered their second consecutive loss after their 5-0 start (and Jim Schwartz didn’t try to punch out Mike Smith when it was over). The matchup between the Seahawks and Browns was a snooze-fest in which apparently only the kickers showed up. The Packers are 7-0 for the first time since 1962. The Saints scored on nine consecutive possessions in their 62-7 [...]

The bye weeks are here! With six teams on the bye this week, playing the waiver wire has added importance now through week 11 (last bye week). You might need a player for only 1 week, and you could end up getting a player that helps you for the rest of the year. Here are six players that could help your fantasy team reach the promised land. Good luck! Bye Week: Falcons, Bears, Packers, Jets, Raiders, and Buccaneers. Fantasy Points [...]

The aftermath of week 7 has left us with many injuries to account for. If you were fortunate enough to escape with your team unscathed consider yourself very fortunate! Combined with bye weeks many teams are going to rushing the waiver wire this week. Here we present many plug and play options that will continue every fantasy GM’s ultimate goal of reaching the playoffs. QB Sam Bradford STL – The Rams defense is deplorable unable to stop the opposing offense, [...]
