*Treat’s Take: Updated Daily!* The bye weeks have started, and it is more and more important whom you get into your lineup when your studs have the week off. The fill-in players can make or break your season. Make sure to tune into HotWIRED by Adam Kleeberg each week before making your waiver picks to possibly find some helpful gems. An important note to remember: I maintain this article during the week. It is published on Wednesdays, but as we [...]

The Vikings/Packers game has shootout written all over it, so don’t look to get many fantasy points out of the points allowed or yards allowed portion in your leagues settings. The big reason is that the Packers have a swiss cheese o-line that allowed 8 sacks to the Vikings a few weeks back. Both teams have been susceptible to D/ST touchdowns this year from punt, kickoff, and turnover returns. The TD reward in this game might be worth the risk [...]

1 Miami threw everything they had at New Orleans, and somehow Drew Brees overcame numerous turnovers to win. The Saints just refuse to lose. – Mike Kaus   2 Just another dominant performance for the class of the AFC North. They may not get tested until New England comes to town in two weeks. – Rob Leath   3 Another tough test this week as the Broncos travel East to face the Ratbirds, but at this point I wouldn’t bet [...]

The Worst 2 Pass Defenses Play Each Other this Week:  Look for your Sleepers in the Jacksonville/Tennessee Matchup I think the current layout of College Football is a joke.  It just doesn’t make any sense.  It is the only major sport that doesn’t have a concrete method for awarding its champion.  Most people hate the BCS and crave a playoff.  Here is my playoff structure and proposal. The regular season will be limited to 11 games and a conference championship [...]

Minnesota 17 at Pittsburgh 27 Review:  Another fast and furious finish for a Minnesota Vikings squad that is quickly becoming one of the league’s most spectacular big-game magnets.  Both the Steelers and the Vikings turned in solid and overpowering defensive efforts which limited the scoring opportunities of their opponents and gave each of them a legitimate chance to win the game late.  Defense and special teams were paramount to dictating the pace, score, and result of this hard-fought match-up, as a crazy turn of events [...]

At this point in the season it’s amazing how many really bad teams there are. The Steelers defense scored as many TD’s as the total offenses of the Browns, Rams, Bucs, Chiefs and Raiders combined! QB’s Shaun Hill was pulled in favor of Alex Smith who makes our list in spite of only playing half a game. JaMarcus Russell was benched and Bruce Gradkowski came in. Delhomme, Bulger and Anderson should have been benched! Ryan Fitzpatrick got his first start [...]

Philadelphia at Washington Two historically defensive-oriented NFC East teams in different states of turmoil collide this week as each active franchise here attempts to shield its recent and embarrassing performance flaws from further public scrutiny and the national spotlight that comes from playing on the center stage of Monday Night Football in prime time. Philadelphia was faced with a sharp and striking identity crisis last week when they proved the old adage “Any given Sunday” by going into the hapless Black Hole [...]

Further insight into the developments that led to Steve ”Air” McNair’s last night on Earth was provided recently by police as they released text messages that were transmitted back and forth between the slain quarterback and his mistress/murderer on the days leading up to their July 4th murder-suicide. The information gleaned from these texts is interesting and noteworthy in that it paints a fairly clear picture of the foundational concerns that affected and influenced Sahel Kazemi’s ultimately fatal decision to end the lives of the undercover [...]

There is a method to trading and setting your team up for your leagues fantasy football playoffs.  But in order to better your team you need to understand your team.  I am going to provide some going forward strategies that will be different for each team depending on your league’s set up, the number of teams in your league, and of course your current record.  First, almost all leagues have their playoffs in week 14, 15, and 16.  Very few [...]
